Possible Causes
Water ingress into MSPA control panel, Damaged keypad membrane, Corroded keypad connector, Shorted keypad cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa before handling the control panel.
- Inspect panel surface: Look for cracks, cloudiness, or water droplets under the keypad overlay. Any sign of water inside indicates failure.
- Dry and clean: If only slight condensation is present, gently dry the surface and allow the panel to air dry. Do not use sharp tools that could puncture the membrane.
- Check cable and connector: Follow the keypad cable to the motor/control unit. Ensure the plug is fully seated and free of corrosion. Reseat it several times to clean contacts.
- Test button response: After reconnecting power, test each button. If multiple buttons trigger wrong functions or remain stuck, the keypad matrix is likely damaged.
- Replace control panel: Install a new MSPA control panel/keypad assembly compatible with your model. Seal the perimeter properly to prevent future water ingress.
