NetSpa Pump Cavitation / Air Lock

NetSpa spa produces a high-pitched whining or humming noise from the pump area, but water flow is low or intermittent.

Possible Causes

Air trapped in pump housing, Low water level, Loose suction fitting drawing air, Recently drained/refilled spa not properly primed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the spa before manipulating hoses or fittings.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water is above the minimum mark and covers all suction fittings.
  • Prime the pump: With power off, slightly loosen a hose connection at the highest point to release trapped air until water seeps out, then retighten.
  • Secure fittings: Tighten suction fittings and ensure O-rings are intact to prevent air being drawn in.

After re-priming, plug the spa back in and test. If humming continues with poor flow, the pump may be damaged and require replacement.
