Possible Causes
Seized pump 2 motor, Loose pump 2 connector at control pack, Failed pump 2 relay, Incorrect dip switch configuration for second pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the GFCI breaker before servicing pump 2 or the control pack.
- Step 1 – Operate pump 2: Press the JETS 2 button and observe. Humming, no start, or breaker trip indicates motor or wiring issues.
- Step 2 – Inspect connections: With power off, verify the pump 2 plug is fully seated on the control board and that the cord is undamaged.
- Step 3 – Check motor shaft: Attempt to rotate the pump 2 motor shaft by hand with power off. If it is stiff or frozen, the motor is likely seized.
- Step 4 – Verify configuration: On some Nordic models, dip switches on the control board must be set correctly for a second pump. Confirm settings match the spa’s configuration (refer to wiring diagram inside the control box cover).
- Step 5 – Replace pump 2: If the motor is faulty, replace the pump 2 assembly with a Nordic-approved unit.
- Step 6 – Replace control board if needed: If the pump is good but never powered, the pump 2 relay or board may be defective.
