Possible Causes
Pump out of balance, Loose mounting hardware, Air in pump causing cavitation, Misaligned plumbing putting stress on pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before adjusting pump mounts or plumbing.
- Step 1 – Check water level: Ensure the spa is filled to the proper level to minimize air ingestion.
- Step 2 – Bleed air: Loosen pump unions slightly to release trapped air, then retighten.
- Step 3 – Inspect mounts: Confirm that pumps are firmly secured to their bases and that rubber isolation pads are present and not deteriorated.
- Step 4 – Check plumbing alignment: Look for rigid PVC lines pulling the pump out of alignment. Adjust supports or add flexible couplings if necessary.
- Step 5 – Replace pump if needed: If the pump impeller or motor is out of balance, replacing the pump assembly may be required to eliminate vibration.
