Possible Causes
Loose pump union, Cracked heater union, Split PVC plumbing, Leaking jet body or gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Step 1 – Locate leak source: Remove the equipment bay panel and inspect while the spa is filled. Use a flashlight to trace drips back to their origin (pump unions, heater unions, valves, or plumbing joints).
- Step 2 – Tighten unions: If water is seeping from pump or heater unions, hand-tighten them further. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking.
- Step 3 – Inspect gaskets and O-rings: If tightening does not stop the leak, shut off power, drain below the leak, and disassemble the union. Replace worn O-rings or gaskets with Nordic-compatible parts.
- Step 4 – Repair PVC joints: For leaks at glued PVC fittings, the joint may need to be cut out and replaced using new fittings and PVC cement. Allow proper cure time before refilling.
- Step 5 – Check jets and fittings: If water appears from the shell area, a jet body or suction fitting gasket may be leaking and require removal and resealing from inside the spa.
