Possible Causes
Dirty or undersized filter, Inadequate filtration cycle duration, High bather load, Imbalanced water chemistry
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Cloudy water can harbor bacteria; avoid use until clarity improves and sanitizer is in range.
- Step 1 – Test and correct chemistry: Check sanitizer, pH, and alkalinity. Bring all into Nordic-recommended ranges.
- Step 2 – Clean or replace filter: Thoroughly clean the Nordic filter cartridge or replace if it is old or damaged.
- Step 3 – Increase filtration time: Adjust the control panel settings to run longer filtration cycles each day.
- Step 4 – Use clarifier: Add a spa clarifier product to help small particles clump so the filter can capture them.
- Step 5 – Shock the spa: Perform a shock treatment to oxidize organic contaminants contributing to cloudiness.
- Step 6 – Drain and refill if needed: If water remains cloudy after treatment, a full drain, clean, and refill may be necessary.
