Possible Causes
Water temperature below freeze threshold, Faulty temperature sensor reading too low, Very cold ambient conditions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not drain the spa in freezing conditions unless you can fully winterize it. Protect plumbing from ice damage.
- Verify actual water temperature: Use a separate thermometer to confirm if water is near freezing. If it is, keep the cover closed and allow the spa to run freeze protection.
- Check cover and insulation: Ensure the spa cover seals well and is not waterlogged. Replace if it cannot retain heat.
- Sensor check: If the water is warm but IC is displayed, the temperature sensor may be reading incorrectly and should be inspected and possibly replaced.
- Do not disable freeze protection: This feature prevents costly freeze damage. If IC persists in warm conditions, have a technician test the sensor and control pack.
