Possible Causes
Seized pump motor, Tripped thermal overload, Failed start capacitor, Faulty pump relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before touching the pump or wiring.
- Listen for sounds: When you press JETS (with power ON), note whether you hear a hum, a click, or nothing. A hum suggests a seized motor or bad capacitor; a click suggests a relay issue.
- Check for air lock: After a refill, loosen the pump unions to release air, then retighten and retry.
- Inspect motor: With power OFF, try to rotate the motor shaft manually. If it is stuck, the pump may need replacement.
- Allow cooling: If the pump housing is very hot, let it cool for an hour and retry; the internal overload may have tripped.
If the pump remains inoperative, have a technician test the motor and control pack and replace the faulty component.
