Passion Spas
Insufficient Heating Performance
Spa heats very slowly or cannot reach set temperature, especially in cold weather.

Possible Causes
Undersized heater for ambient conditions, Poor insulation or heat loss through cover, Partially scaled heater, Circulation pump not running continuously
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure water level is correct and all suctions are covered before running pumps.
- Check cover condition: Inspect the spa cover for waterlogging, tears, or poor seal. Replace if heavy or damaged, as this greatly increases heat loss.
- Verify circulation: Confirm the circulation pump runs as programmed and that water is flowing strongly through the heater return.
- Descale heater: If you have hard water, consider descaling the heater tube to improve heat transfer.
- Reduce heat loss: In very cold climates, add windbreaks around the spa and ensure cabinet panels are properly installed and insulated.
If the spa still cannot reach temperature, a higher-output heater or additional insulation may be required; consult a Passion Spas dealer.
