Possible Causes
Dirty or clogged filter cartridge, Low water level in spa, Airlock in circulation line, Failed or weak circulation pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the spa disconnect or main breaker before opening any equipment compartment. Never run the spa without proper water level.
- Check water level: Ensure the water level is above all suction fittings and at least halfway up the skimmer opening. Top off if low.
- Clean the filter: Remove the RivieraPool filter cartridge from the skimmer or filter canister. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from top to bottom. If heavily soiled or older than 1–2 years, replace with a compatible RivieraPool filter cartridge.
- Bleed air from lines: With power OFF, loosen the bleed screw on top of the RivieraPool circulation pump (if equipped) or slightly loosen the union on the pump discharge until water seeps out, then retighten. This removes trapped air.
- Restart the spa: Restore power and run the circulation cycle. Observe the flow through the heater return jets. If FLO persists and there is little or no flow, the circulation pump may be failing.
- If pump is weak or noisy: Inspect the RivieraPool circulation pump for leaks, overheating, or grinding noises. If the motor shaft is seized or the pump will not run, replacement of the circulation pump assembly is recommended.
