Possible Causes
Open or shorted high-limit sensor, Loose sensor in heater well, Corroded or loose connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the equipment bay.
- Identify the sensor: The RivieraPool secondary or high-limit sensor is usually mounted on the heater tube or in a separate well. Trace its cable to the control board.
- Check seating: Ensure the sensor is fully inserted into its well or firmly clamped to the heater tube. A loose sensor can misread temperature.
- Inspect cable and connector: Look for damage along the cable and ensure the plug is tight and clean on the control board.
- Replace if faulty: If Sn2 persists after reseating and inspection, replace the RivieraPool high-limit sensor with an exact or approved equivalent.
- Post-repair test: Restore power, clear the error by power-cycling, and monitor spa operation for at least one full heating cycle.
