Possible Causes
Seized pump motor, Failed start capacitor on 1-speed or 2-speed pump, Loose pump wiring, Tripped thermal overload in motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before touching pumps or wiring.
- Listen for sounds: When you press the jet button, if you hear a hum but no water movement, the RivieraPool pump motor may be seized or have a bad capacitor.
- Check for obstructions: With power OFF, remove the pump's rear cover and attempt to rotate the shaft by hand. If it is stuck, debris or internal failure is likely.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure all pump leads are firmly connected at the control pack and at the pump junction box.
- Capacitor replacement: If the shaft spins freely but the motor only hums, replace the RivieraPool pump start/run capacitor with the correct rating.
- Replace pump: If the motor is seized or overheats quickly, replace the entire RivieraPool pump assembly.
