Possible Causes
Blocked impeller in circulation pump, Debris in pump housing, Failing pump motor windings, Voltage drop or unstable power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa before attempting any inspection. Do not insert fingers into any water ports.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the filter cartridge and inspect the suction and return ports for debris, toys, or stones that could jam the pump.
- Inspect water quality: Heavy scale or sludge can clog the pump. If water is very dirty, drain the spa, rinse the liner and ports, and refill with clean water.
- Verify power supply: Ensure the spa is connected directly to a dedicated outlet (no extension cords) with the correct voltage and amperage as specified by SaluSpa.
- Reset and test: After clearing obstructions and refilling, plug in the spa and run only the filtration mode. Listen for abnormal noises from the pump (grinding, humming without flow).
- Persistent E06: If the error reoccurs and the pump struggles to start, the motor may be failing and the pump/heater unit or internal pump assembly will likely need replacement.
Warning: Do not repeatedly reset and run a pump that is tripping overload; this can overheat wiring and pose a fire risk.
