Possible Causes
One of the redundant temperature sensors failed, Loose sensor connector, Scale buildup causing uneven sensor readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa and allow water to cool before working near the heater housing.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and check if the error clears.
- Descale system: Run a descaling treatment to remove mineral buildup from the heater and sensor surfaces. Drain and refill with fresh water afterward.
- Check for kinks: If sensor leads are visible, ensure they are not pinched or kinked where they enter the heater housing.
- Compare temperature: Use an external thermometer to verify actual water temperature. If the display is far off, one sensor is likely faulty.
- Persistent E13: The dual-sensor assembly or main PCB may need replacement. On many SaluSpa models, this is done by replacing the entire pump/heater unit.
Warning: Do not attempt to splice or extend sensor wires; this can alter resistance values and defeat safety calibration.
