Possible Causes

Ambient temperature below operating range, Frozen water in pump/heater or hoses, Faulty freeze detection logic

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not attempt to run the spa if water or hoses are frozen. Ice expansion can crack components.

  • Check ambient temperature: Confirm that the outdoor temperature is within the operating range specified by SaluSpa (typically above 4°C / 40°F).
  • Inspect for ice: Gently squeeze hoses and the spa wall near the inlet/outlet to feel for ice. If frozen, do not power the spa.
  • Thaw safely: Move the pump/heater unit and hoses to a warmer area or use ambient room heat to gradually thaw. Do not use open flames or direct high heat.
  • Refill and test: Once fully thawed and inspected for cracks or leaks, refill the spa with water above 10°C (50°F) and restart.
  • Persistent E15 in mild weather: If the error appears even in normal temperatures, the freeze sensor or logic may be faulty and the pump/heater unit may require replacement.

Warning: Operating the spa in freezing conditions without proper insulation and monitoring can cause severe damage to the liner and pump/heater assembly.
