SaluSpa Perceived Heat Loss During Air Blower Operation

Spa loses temperature quickly when bubbles are turned on; users feel water getting cold during bubble operation.

Possible Causes

Cold ambient air injected through bubble system, Thin spa cover or cover left off, Heater unable to keep up with bubble-induced heat loss

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the spa is on a stable, level surface before entering or adjusting covers.

  • Preheat above target: Heat the spa 1–2°C (2–4°F) higher than your desired soaking temperature before turning on bubbles.
  • Limit bubble duration: Use the bubble function in shorter intervals (10–15 minutes) to reduce cooling.
  • Improve cover insulation: When not in use, keep the insulated cover on. Consider adding a floating thermal blanket on the water surface under the main cover.
  • Use in milder conditions: In very cold or windy weather, bubble use will cool the water rapidly; limit use or shield the spa from wind.

Note: This is typically a design/physics limitation rather than a hardware fault.
