How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the spa before any inspection. Hot water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Verify mode: Ensure the spa is actually in heating mode (heat icon illuminated) and not just filtration.
- Check temperature rise: Measure water temperature with an external thermometer over 1–2 hours. If there is no increase, the heater is likely not energizing.
- Inspect for leaks: Look around the heater housing on the pump/heater unit for drips or mineral deposits that might indicate a failed heater tube.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes and retry. If still no heat, internal testing of heater resistance and power delivery is required.
- Replacement: On most SaluSpa models, the heater is integrated into the pump/heater assembly. Replacement of the entire pump/heater unit is the typical repair.
