Possible Causes
Water temperature near freezing, Ambient temperature very low, Temperature sensor reading low, Control pack freeze-protection logic active
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing conditions; freeze protection prevents plumbing damage.
- Keep spa powered: Ensure the breaker remains ON during cold weather so the Saratoga Spas control system can circulate water and prevent freezing.
- Verify cover and insulation: Make sure the spa cover is in good condition and properly latched to retain heat. Check that equipment bay panels are in place.
- Check water level: Maintain proper water level so pumps do not draw air.
- Monitor temperature: Use an external thermometer to confirm actual water temperature. If ICE displays when water is warm, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
If ICE mode behaves abnormally or persists in warm conditions, have the temperature sensor and control pack checked.
