Possible Causes
Pump shaft seal leak, Cracked PVC union or fitting, Heater union gasket failure, Jet body or manifold crack in foam-insulated shell
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and, if leak is severe, lower water level below the leak to prevent flooding the equipment bay.
- Locate source: Remove side panels and inspect around pumps, heater, and unions while the spa is filled. Look for active drips or mineral deposits.
- Tighten unions: Hand-tighten any loose pump or heater unions. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking.
- Replace gaskets: If a union is leaking at the gasket, drain below that level, disassemble the union, replace the gasket, and reassemble.
- Pump seal leaks: If water is dripping from under the pump motor where it meets the wet end, the shaft seal has failed. The pump should be rebuilt or replaced.
Leaks inside the foam of the shell or at jet bodies often require professional leak detection and foam excavation.
