Possible Causes
Water intrusion in pump motor, Shorted heater element to ground, Damaged ozone generator, Faulty light transformer or LED driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping GFCI. Risk of shock exists. Turn breaker OFF and call a qualified technician if you are not experienced with electrical testing.
- Visual inspection: Open the equipment bay and look for obvious leaks, burnt components, or standing water around pumps and the control pack.
- Isolate components (for technicians): A technician can disconnect the heater, then pumps, then ozone, etc., one at a time to identify which component causes the GFCI to trip.
- Dry moisture: If a minor leak has dampened a motor, correct the leak and allow the area to dry completely before re-energizing.
Most GFCI trip issues require professional diagnosis and replacement of the leaking component.
