Possible Causes

Stuck flow switch contacts, Shorted flow switch wiring, Incorrectly installed or bypassed flow switch, Control board input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker. Never bypass safety devices for normal operation.

Steps to troubleshoot FLC/FL2:

  • Inspect wiring: Open the equipment bay and locate the flow switch wiring harness. Check for pinched, rubbed, or shorted wires and repair as needed.
  • Check the flow switch body: Ensure the flow switch is installed in the correct orientation and that no one has mechanically locked it closed.
  • Test continuity: With power OFF, disconnect the flow switch from the control board and use a multimeter to check continuity across the switch. With no flow, the switch should be open (no continuity). If it reads closed, the switch is stuck and must be replaced.
  • Replace the flow switch: Drain the spa below the level of the switch or clamp the lines. Remove the old switch and install a Strong Spas-compatible replacement with new seals. Reconnect wiring to the same terminals.

When to call a technician: If a new flow switch does not clear FLC, the control board may have an internal fault and should be evaluated by a professional.
