Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the main breaker before opening any electrical junction boxes. If you are not comfortable working with high voltage, contact an electrician.
Steps to address PF:
- Reset GFCI: Press the TEST and then RESET buttons on the spa’s GFCI breaker. Ensure it latches firmly.
- Inspect supply voltage: Have a qualified person verify that the spa is receiving the correct voltage (typically 240V for Strong Spas hardwired models) and that neutral/ground connections are correct.
- Check internal connections: With power OFF, open the control pack and inspect the main power lugs for tightness and signs of overheating or discoloration.
- Power cycle: Restore power and observe if PF reappears. If it does, note any patterns (e.g., when pumps start) for technician reference.
When to call a technician: Persistent PF errors usually require a licensed electrician or spa technician to diagnose wiring or control pack issues.
