Possible Causes
Scale buildup inside diverter, Swollen or damaged diverter O-rings, Debris lodged in valve, Warped diverter gate from heat or chemical imbalance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off pumps before operating or disassembling valves.
- 1. Gently work the valve: With pumps off, slowly turn the diverter knob back and forth to free minor deposits.
- 2. Remove valve cap: Unscrew the diverter cap and lift out the internal gate assembly.
- 3. Clean components: Remove debris and scale from the gate and housing. Inspect O-rings and replace if swollen or cracked.
- 4. Lubricate: Apply a small amount of spa-safe silicone lubricant to O-rings before reassembly.
- When to call a technician: If the valve body is cracked or warped, it may need to be cut out and replaced, which is best done by a professional.
