How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the main breaker before tightening any electrical connections. Only work on electrical components if you are qualified.
- 1. Confirm utility power stability: Check if other appliances in the home experienced outages or flickering lights.
- 2. Inspect main lugs: With power OFF, open the Sundance control box and inspect the main power lugs for looseness, discoloration, or heat damage. Tighten only if you are trained to do so.
- 3. Check GFCI breaker: Test the GFCI by pressing the TEST and RESET buttons. If it trips frequently without cause, it may be failing.
- 4. Monitor for recurrence: Restore power and observe if PF returns. If it does, note the conditions (pump speed, heater on, etc.).
- When to call a technician/electrician: Persistent PF errors may indicate wiring issues, undersized conductors, or a failing breaker and should be evaluated by a licensed electrician or spa technician.
