Possible Causes
Open heater element, Tripped high-limit, Failed heater relay, Loose heater connections at control pack
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI. The heater terminals carry high voltage.
- Inspect heater wiring: Remove the control pack cover and check that the heater wires are firmly attached to the heater terminals and the control board.
- Check for burn marks: Look for discoloration or melted insulation around the heater connections, indicating overheating.
- Reset high-limit: Some Sunrise Spas heaters have a manual reset button on the heater tube. Press it gently if present.
- Test heater (advanced): With wires removed and power off, measure resistance across the heater element. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
