Possible Causes
Low ambient temperature around spa, Freeze sensor detecting near-freezing conditions, Spa left in standby mode in winter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not shut off power to the spa in freezing weather unless the spa is fully winterized.
- Allow system to run: ICE mode is normal in cold weather. The Sunrise Spas control pack will cycle pumps to prevent freezing.
- Check cover and cabinet: Ensure the cover is sealed and cabinet panels are in place to retain heat.
- Verify circulation: Confirm that water is moving through all major lines. If some lines are not flowing, air locks or closed valves may exist and should be corrected.
- Sensor issues: If ICE appears in warm conditions, the freeze sensor may be defective and should be tested and replaced.
