Shorted heater element, Welded heater relay contacts on control board, Water intrusion into control pack, Incorrect heater installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the GFCI immediately. Do not attempt to run the spa until the fault is diagnosed.
- Inspect control pack: Remove the equipment bay panel and visually inspect the Sunrise Spas control pack for signs of burning, melted plastic, or moisture.
- Check for leaks: Look for water dripping onto the control box from plumbing unions, pump seals, or the heater manifold. Repair leaks before replacing electronics.
- Do not bypass relays: Heater relay faults can cause fire hazards. Do not attempt to jumper or bypass the relay.
- Professional testing: A technician should test heater resistance and inspect the relay board. Replacement of the heater relay board or complete control pack is often required.
