Possible Causes

Corrupted control software, Faulty topside control panel, Loose ribbon cable between panel and control pack, Internal control board failure on Tuff Spas system

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the GFCI breaker before opening the control pack.

  • Step 1 – Power reset: Turn the breaker off for 2 minutes, then back on. Observe if SE clears.
  • Step 2 – Check topside cable: Inspect the ribbon cable from the topside panel to the control pack. Ensure both ends are fully seated and the cable is not damaged.
  • Step 3 – Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of water intrusion in the topside panel or control box. Dry any moisture and correct the source of leaks.

If SE persists, the control board or topside panel may need replacement. This is typically a job for a qualified spa technician.
