Possible Causes
Misplaced temperature sensor, Sensor not in direct contact with water flow, Stuck heater relay, Calibration drift in Tuff Spas control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Overheating water can be dangerous. Do not use the spa if water exceeds 104°F (40°C).
- Step 1 – Verify sensor placement: Ensure the temperature sensor is fully inserted into the heater tube or sensor well and secured.
- Step 2 – Compare with external thermometer: Check actual water temperature with a reliable thermometer to confirm the extent of overshoot.
- Step 3 – Observe heater icon: If the heater indicator on the topside remains on even after set temperature is reached, the heater relay may be sticking.
Persistent overshoot usually requires sensor replacement or control pack repair/replacement by a spa technician.
