Control panel shows F5 and jets may not respond correctly; pump speeds may be locked or unavailable.

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before touching pumps or control wiring.

• Check pump 1 operation:
  • With power ON (before opening anything), try to start Pump 1 from the topside.
  • Listen for humming, clicking, or no response. Then turn power OFF again.
• Inspect pump 1 connections:
  • Open the equipment bay and locate Pump 1 (usually the largest jet pump).
  • Verify that the pump power cable is firmly connected to the Pump 1 output on the USSPA control pack.
  • Check for burned connectors or melted insulation.
• Check pump motor for seizure:
  • With power OFF, try to rotate the pump shaft or impeller (via rear fan or coupling) by hand. It should turn smoothly.
  • If it is locked or very stiff, the pump motor is likely seized and must be replaced.
• Inspect control board:
  • Open the control box and locate the Pump 1 relay.
  • Look for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or signs of overheating.
• Corrective actions:
  • If the pump is seized or shorted, replace the complete USSPA-compatible jet pump assembly.
  • If the pump tests good but F5 persists, replace the main control board or have the relay professionally replaced.
• Final test:
  • After reassembly, restore power and test Pump 1 at all speeds.
  • Confirm that F5 no longer appears and that the pump runs smoothly without tripping breakers.
