Possible Causes

Failed heater element in USSPA heater tube, Tripped high-limit or dry-fire protection, Faulty heater relay on control board, Flow issues preventing heater from engaging

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before opening the control box or touching heater wiring.

  • Confirm settings:
    • Verify set temperature is higher than current water temperature.
    • Ensure spa is not in Economy or Sleep mode.
  • Check for flow-related errors:
    • Look for FLO, DR, or DRY codes; resolve any flow issues first (clean filters, bleed air, check pumps).
  • Inspect heater connections:
    • Open equipment bay and check heater terminals for tightness and signs of burning.
  • Test heater element:
    • With power OFF and heater wires disconnected, measure resistance across heater terminals.
    • OL (open) or near 0 Ω indicates a failed element; replace the heater assembly.
  • Check heater relay:
    • With power ON and a call for heat, verify (with a meter, if qualified) that voltage is present at heater terminals.
    • If no voltage despite a heat call, the relay or control board is likely faulty and should be replaced.
