Possible Causes

Insufficient water level in Villeroy & Boch shell, Clogged filter cartridges in Villeroy & Boch filter housing, Air lock in circulation line, Faulty pressure/flow switch on Villeroy & Boch control pack

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the spa’s dedicated breaker before opening any equipment compartment. Never work on a spa filled with water while power is on.

  • Check water level: Ensure the water level is above all suction fittings and at the recommended fill line in the Villeroy & Boch shell. Top up if low.
  • Clean or remove filters: Open the filter compartment, remove the Villeroy & Boch filter cartridges, and hose them from inside out. For testing, run the spa briefly with filters removed (with power restored) to see if F1 clears. If it does, replace or deep-clean filters.
  • Bleed air from system: With power off, loosen the union on the circulation pump in the Villeroy & Boch equipment bay just enough to let trapped air escape, then retighten. Re-energize the spa and check if the error clears.
  • Inspect pressure/flow switch: Locate the pressure or flow switch on the heater manifold of the Villeroy & Boch control pack. Check wiring connections for corrosion or looseness. If the switch does not close when the circulation pump runs (test with a multimeter if qualified), it may need replacement.
  • Reset spa: Turn power off at the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power to reset the control board and recheck operation.

If F1 persists after filter cleaning and bleeding air, the pressure/flow switch or circulation pump may require professional diagnosis and replacement.
