Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before disconnecting the keypad.
- Inspect keypad surface: Check the Villeroy & Boch topside panel for cracks, lifted edges, or water under the display window. Any sign of moisture suggests keypad failure.
- Reseat ribbon cable: From inside the equipment bay, locate the keypad ribbon cable connection on the control board. Gently unplug and replug it to ensure a solid connection.
- Dry the area: If moisture is present around the keypad, carefully dry the surface and allow time for internal moisture to evaporate. Do not use heat guns directly on the keypad.
- Test operation: Restore power and test all buttons. If some or all buttons remain unresponsive and F7 persists, the keypad is likely defective.
Replace the topside control panel with the correct Villeroy & Boch keypad model. If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, the control board keypad interface may be faulty and require replacement.
