How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately turn off power at the breaker if the pump hums without turning. Do not allow it to continue humming.
- Check for obstructions: With power off, remove pump unions and inspect the impeller for stones, plastic, or other debris.
- Spin shaft: Try to rotate the pump shaft by hand. If it is stiff or seized, the motor likely needs replacement.
- Inspect capacitor: If accessible, examine the start capacitor on the Villeroy & Boch pump for bulging or leakage and replace if faulty.
