Possible Causes
Failed heater element in Villeroy & Boch heater tube, Tripped high-limit or thermal cut-out, Faulty temperature sensor, Stuck-open heater relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the heater or control pack.
- Confirm settings: Ensure the set temperature on the Villeroy & Boch control panel is higher than current water temperature and that the spa is not in economy mode.
- Check for error codes: Look for any heater-related codes (OH, HL, F2, etc.) and address them first.
- Inspect heater: In the equipment bay, locate the heater tube. Check for leaks, corrosion, or burn marks at the terminals.
- Reset thermal cut-out: Some Villeroy & Boch heaters have a manual reset button. With power off, press the reset if present.
- Professional testing: A technician can measure heater resistance and verify voltage at the heater when a heat call is active.
Heater or control board replacement should be done by a qualified technician.
