Possible Causes
Low water level in spa, Air lock in heater, Blocked suction or closed valves, Failed circulation pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not run the heater without confirmed water flow.
- 1. Check water level:
- Ensure water is above all jets and the skimmer opening.
- Top up if needed.
- 2. Clean filters and check suction:
- Remove and rinse filters.
- Inspect suction fittings inside the spa for blockages (toys, leaves, etc.).
- 3. Bleed air from heater:
- Loosen heater unions slightly until water flows steadily, then retighten.
- 4. Confirm circulation pump operation:
- Restore power and verify that the circulation pump runs and that you feel water returning to the spa.
- 5. If dr persists: The circulation pump may be weak or failed, or the heater may have been damaged by dry firing. Have a technician test pump performance and heater integrity.
