Damaged topside control cable, Moisture intrusion into keypad, Loose keypad connector at control board, Faulty topside control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before disconnecting or reconnecting any control cables.
- 1. Inspect topside panel:
- Check for condensation or water under the display window.
- Ensure no buttons are stuck or physically damaged.
- 2. Check cable connections:
- Open the equipment bay and locate the topside control cable plugged into the main control board.
- Unplug the cable, inspect for corrosion or bent pins, then firmly reconnect.
- 3. Examine cable routing:
- Follow the cable from the panel to the control pack.
- Look for pinched, cut, or chewed sections and repair or replace as needed.
- 4. Test operation:
- Restore power and see if F8 clears and the panel responds normally.
- 5. Replace panel if needed:
- If the error persists and the cable is intact, replace the topside control panel with a Wellis‑compatible unit.
- If a new panel does not resolve the issue, the control board communication circuit may be defective and require replacement.
