Possible Causes
Stuck flow switch contacts, Incorrectly wired flow switch, Shorted flow switch cable, Control board misreading flow input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before working on the flow switch or control pack.
- 1. Inspect flow switch:
- Locate the flow switch near the heater.
- Check for debris or scale that could mechanically jam the internal paddle or plunger.
- 2. Check wiring:
- Ensure the flow switch is connected to the correct terminals on the control board.
- Inspect the cable for damage or signs of shorting.
- 3. Reseat connector:
- Unplug and reconnect the flow switch connector at the board.
- 4. Replace flow switch:
- If FLC persists, replace the flow switch with a Wellis‑approved part.
- 5. Control board diagnosis:
- If a new switch does not resolve FLC, the board’s flow input circuit may be shorted. Have a technician test and replace the control pack if needed.
