Possible Causes
Debris lodged in impeller, Failed pump bearings, Swollen shaft seal, Low voltage causing motor stall
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the pump.
- 1. Check for air lock:
- Bleed the pump unions to remove air as described in air lock procedures.
- 2. Inspect pump mechanically:
- With power OFF, try to rotate the motor shaft by hand (via rear fan or coupling).
- If it is stiff or locked, the pump likely needs rebuilding or replacement.
- 3. Check for obstructions:
- Remove pump wet end (technician) and inspect impeller for debris.
- 4. Electrical checks (qualified person):
- Verify correct voltage at the pump terminals.
- 5. Replace pump if seized: Install a Wellis‑compatible replacement pump if the motor is seized or bearings are failed.
