Possible Causes
Loose pump or heater unions, Cracked PVC fittings, Leaking jet body gasket, Damaged slice valve or O-ring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and do not run pumps with low water level. Be cautious of slippery surfaces.
- 1. Identify leak source:
- Remove side panels and inspect while the spa is filled.
- Look around pump unions, heater unions, slice valves, and jet bodies.
- 2. Tighten unions:
- Hand-tighten any loose pump or heater unions; do not overtighten.
- 3. Replace gaskets/O-rings:
- If a union or slice valve continues to leak, replace its gasket or O-ring.
- 4. Jet body leaks:
- If water is seeping around a jet on the shell, the jet body gasket may be compromised.
- This often requires draining the spa and accessing the rear of the jet body to reseal or replace it.
- 5. Structural or inaccessible leaks: For leaks within foam insulation or under the shell, contact a Wellis service technician for leak detection and repair.
