How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before extended handling.
- Hard reset: Unplug the unit for at least 15 minutes. Press and hold the power button (if accessible) for 10 seconds while unplugged to discharge internal circuits. Then reconnect and test.
- Factory reset: Some AEG models allow a factory reset via a key combination (e.g., holding specific buttons while powering on). Refer to the service or user manual and perform a reset if available.
- Surge protection: If the error occurred after a storm or power cut, connect the unit via a surge-protected outlet to prevent recurrence.
- Board replacement: Persistent E9 usually indicates a defective main control PCB or onboard EEPROM. Replacement of the board is required and is best done by a qualified technician.
