Possible Causes
Refrigerant leak in evaporator or condenser, Blocked capillary tube, Severely reduced compressor performance, Faulty temperature sensor misreading system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Refrigerant systems are not DIY. Do not attempt to cut or open copper lines.
- Visual inspection: Look for oily residue on the evaporator, condenser, or piping, which can indicate a refrigerant leak.
- Check coil temperatures: After running for 10–15 minutes, the evaporator should be cool and the condenser warm. If both are near room temperature, the system may be low on refrigerant.
- Clean coils and filter: Ensure the air filter and coils are clean to rule out airflow issues.
- Sensor check: Verify that the evaporator NTC sensor is correctly attached and functioning.
- Professional service: If EC persists, contact an authorized AEG service technician to locate and repair leaks and recharge the system.
