Possible Causes
Blocked air filter or grilles, Failed fan motor causing poor airflow, Ambient temperature too high, Faulty overheat thermostat or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before inspection.
- Clean airflow path: Remove and clean the air filter. Vacuum intake and exhaust grilles. Ensure at least 30 cm clearance around the unit.
- Check fan operation: Power the unit and verify that the fan runs at normal speed. If slow or not running, see fan motor fault entries.
- Inspect overheat sensor: Locate the thermal fuse or thermostat mounted on the condenser or near the compressor. Check for loose mounting or wiring.
- Replace overheat thermostat: If the thermostat opens at too low a temperature or shows intermittent continuity, replace the overheat thermostat / thermal protector.
- Ambient conditions: Ensure the room temperature is within the specified operating range. Avoid placing the unit in confined spaces or near heat sources.
