Possible Causes

Failed relative humidity sensor, Humidity sensor harness unplugged or damaged, Corrosion on sensor connector, Faulty main control board RH input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier before opening any panels. Avoid touching the compressor or capacitor terminals.

  • Step 1 – Reset attempt: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug back in and try to start. If E2 returns, proceed.
  • Step 2 – Access control area: Remove the front control panel bezel or top cover (depending on model) to access the main PCB and sensor connections.
  • Step 3 – Locate humidity sensor: The RH sensor is typically a small module on a two- or three-wire harness, mounted near the air intake grille or behind the front panel where air passes over it.
  • Step 4 – Inspect and reseat: Check that the sensor is firmly clipped in place and its connector is fully seated on the PCB. Look for corrosion or moisture damage. Reseat the connector several times to clean contacts.
  • Step 5 – Replace sensor if damaged: If the sensor body is cracked, corroded, or the wires are broken, replace it with the correct AIRCARE humidity sensor for your model. Route the new harness away from sharp edges and moving parts.
  • Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall the panel, plug in the unit, and power ON. Set a humidity level and verify that E2 is cleared and the unit cycles normally.

If E2 persists with a new sensor and good wiring, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
