AIRCARE dehumidifier displays E3 and the compressor will not run or shuts off quickly.

Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier. Coils and metal edges can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.

• Step 1 – Remove front or rear cover: Take out screws and carefully remove the panel to expose the evaporator coil (the cold coil where air first passes).
• Step 2 – Locate coil sensor: Look for a small sensor clipped or taped to the evaporator tubing or fins, connected by two thin wires to the control board.
• Step 3 – Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil. If it has fallen off, reattach it using aluminum tape or the original clip so it makes good thermal contact.
• Step 4 – Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the PCB. Look for cuts, pinches, or corrosion. Reseat the connector on the board.
• Step 5 – Replace sensor if faulty: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/short (if you have a multimeter and specs), replace it with the correct AIRCARE evaporator thermistor for your model.
• Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall covers, plug in the unit, and run it. Confirm that E3 is cleared and the compressor runs normally without rapid cycling.

If E3 remains after sensor replacement, the main control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
