Possible Causes

Blocked fan wheel, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor wiring connector, Control board not detecting fan rotation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier. Fan blades can be sharp; avoid placing fingers near the fan when powered.

  • Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Look through the intake and exhaust grilles for plastic bags, filters, or debris blocking the fan. Remove any obstruction.
  • Step 2 – Access fan area: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the fan and motor assembly.
  • Step 3 – Spin fan by hand: Gently rotate the fan wheel. It should spin freely without grinding or rubbing. If it is stiff, the motor bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
  • Step 4 – Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the control board. Ensure it is fully seated and that wires are not damaged or burnt.
  • Step 5 – Replace fan motor if needed: If the motor is seized or does not run when the unit is powered (and E6 appears), replace the fan motor assembly with the correct AIRCARE part. Transfer the fan blade to the new motor if it is separate, ensuring it is balanced and fully seated.
  • Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall panels, plug in the unit, and power ON. Confirm that the fan starts and E6 is cleared.

If E6 persists with a new motor and good wiring, the control board may not be sending power or reading feedback correctly and may need replacement.
