Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Failed user interface board, Faulty main control board communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or top cover.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug the dehumidifier for 10 minutes, then plug back in. If E7 returns immediately, continue.
- Step 2 – Remove control panel bezel: Carefully pry or unscrew the front control panel to access the display/keypad board and ribbon cable.
- Step 3 – Inspect ribbon cable: Check that the flat ribbon cable or harness between the user interface board and main PCB is fully seated at both ends. Look for corrosion or moisture on connectors.
- Step 4 – Dry moisture: If there are signs of condensation or water droplets, gently dry the area with a soft cloth and allow the unit to air dry for several hours before reassembly.
- Step 5 – Reseat or replace UI board: Reseat the ribbon cable. If buttons are unresponsive or the board is visibly damaged, replace the user interface/control panel board with the correct AIRCARE part.
- Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall the panel, plug in, and test operation. Confirm that E7 is cleared and all buttons respond.
If E7 persists with a new UI board and good connections, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
