Low Room Temperature or Sensor Reading Below Operating Range
AIRCARE digital humidifier displays LO and does not increase humidity output even when set higher.

Possible Causes
Room temperature below minimum operating spec, Temperature sensor reading too low due to placement, Unit placed near cold window or draft, Faulty thermistor reading low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before moving it if there is any risk of water spillage.
- Step 1 – Check room temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify the actual room temperature. Many AIRCARE units require temperatures above about 40–45°F (4–7°C) to operate normally.
- Step 2 – Relocate the unit: Move the humidifier away from cold windows, exterior doors, or unheated areas that can cause the sensor to read artificially low.
- Step 3 – Allow to stabilize: Let the unit sit in the new location for 30–60 minutes, then power it ON and check if LO clears.
- Step 4 – Inspect temperature sensor (if LO persists in a warm room): If the room is clearly above 50°F (10°C) and LO remains, the thermistor may be faulty. Access the control area, locate the temperature sensor, and ensure it is properly connected and not damaged.
- Step 5 – Replace thermistor if needed: Install a new AIRCARE temperature sensor for your model and test again.
If LO persists with a known-good sensor and normal room temperature, the control board may be misreading the sensor and require replacement.
