Possible Causes
Loose motor connector, Failed triac or relay on control board, Open winding in fan motor, Safety interlock (like tank switch) not engaged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing internal wiring. Use caution around live circuits if testing with power applied.
- Step 1 – Check safety interlocks: Ensure the water tank is fully seated and any float or tank switches are engaged. Some AIRCARE models will not run the fan if the tank is removed.
- Step 2 – Inspect motor wiring: Remove the cover and locate the fan motor connector. Ensure it is firmly plugged into the control board and that wires are intact.
- Step 3 – Listen for relay click: With the unit reassembled and powered, select a fan speed and listen for a relay click. No click may indicate a failed relay or triac on the board.
- Step 4 – Replace fan motor if open (advanced): If you have a multimeter and skills, test the motor windings for continuity. An open winding means the motor must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Replace control board if no output: If the motor is good but never receives power when commanded, replace the main control board.
When replacing the board, transfer each connector carefully to avoid miswiring. Label wires if needed.
