Possible Causes

Clogged air intake grille, Fan blade coated with dust reducing airflow, Fan motor running at reduced speed, Wick not seated correctly in housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the humidifier before cleaning or disassembly.

  • Step 1 – Check fan speed setting: Ensure the fan is set to Medium or High. Low speed may not produce noticeable output in very dry homes.
  • Step 2 – Clean intake and outlet grilles: Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust from all air grilles.
  • Step 3 – Inspect wick installation: Remove the top cover and verify the AIRCARE wick filter is fully seated in its frame or tray, with no gaps around the edges where air could bypass the wick.
  • Step 4 – Clean fan blade: If accessible, gently wipe dust from the fan blades with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid bending blades.
  • Step 5 – Test fan motor: Plug in and briefly run the unit with the cover on. Listen for weak or labored fan operation. If the fan is slow or noisy, the fan motor may need replacement.

Proper airflow through a correctly installed wick is essential for good humidity output. If airflow remains weak after cleaning, replace the fan motor assembly.
